Racist mass murderer whose views on Jews and Black people were not actually that different to Hitler's; womanising hypocrite who wasn't even really that politically radical; imperialist and militarist who betrayed his supposed democratic and revolutionary principles; why oh why?; dictatorial thug who was only slightly better than King Henry VIII and Queen Mary.

Yes and no. I separated each of your favourite historical figures by semi-colons. As for Churchill, even for his time his views regarding Jews, Black people and Indians were pretty extreme. (Regarding the third group, his views were probably more racist and less favourable than Hitler's!) He personally took part in atrocities against Kurds, Indians and East Africans as a soldier, and his military background made him very enthusiastic for the War.

He had a brilliant both militaristic and political mind. I tried to pick the good ones and also successful but it seems everyone has some sins...

Well you'd feel at home with him then. And yes, Nehru was at least equally responsible for liberating India as was Gandhi, without all the baggage the latter had. Gandhi's attitudes towards women (not least his own wife) and science and medicine were also very reactionary.

Oh, you forgot about the atrocities during the Boers War and the fiasco of Galipolli.

But congratulations you've just invented a new meaning to the "right-wing" concept.

And none of them were "right wingers" like the cowboy Reagan.
About Jesus Christ. Sorry to contradict you, but plenty of historical sources confirmed his existence. Jewish historian Flavius Joseph is one of them, Suetonius in his Lives of the Twelve Caesars, and of course Paul of Tarsus. For the Romans, being crucified was the worst humiliation, how do you explain that so many Jews and Gentiles worshipped a crucified man?

The mythist hypothesis you're referring too appeared at the end of the 18th century in France: Constantin-François Volney was the first theologian to officialy deny Jesus Christ's existence. But his work was not taken seriously by scholars. Today, this thesis is still at the scientific fringe. Vicar Robert M. Price is one of the few remaining scholars who still doubt that J.C. really existed.

Believe me, I've read many books and your pseudo-explanations will never convince me. I could write pages and pages on that subject but I'm too tired and it would be too much English for the day, and moreover my keyboars is damaged.

As for Gandhi's life, I've read his biography, written by Catherine Clément, she never mentioned your story. Do you want to know what the Afrikaners and the English colonizers thought about black people? Something much worse than "savage".

Concerning Reagan, I won't deny that he doesn't deserve to be on that top 5 list, in company of people like Socrates, Caesar, Descartes or Napoleon.

??? I beg your pardon, care to explain where that came from ?

You got to give credit to Richard Attenborough, another Hollywoodesque myth creation masterpice...Gandhi was hypocrite to the core, his positions about India's caste system and the struggle of the Dalits really expose who he was.

Your own views about Black people appear to be quite disdainful, aren't they?
