Why do MENA people want to associate with Turks?

This is a bit interesting. Whenever there's a discussion about Turkey's role in Europe; Iranians, Arabs, Kurds, Afghans etc. always jump in and make a huge fuss about it. I don't see any normal Europeans getting worked up like this, except a certain Moor offspring and a few other no-life incels. A MENA comes and say; 'hey durkey is not europe' and all thumb ups mostly come from MENA people, not Europeans. This is just my observation.

Now here's the fact: Turkey is a Eurasian country similar to Russia. Turkey's European portion has a population of over 20 million and is by far the most important area in terms of commerce, popularity and investment, like Moscow in Russia which makes it a country closer to Europe rather than to China or Japan.

So; I have a theory about this. Turkish series have a large audience in MENA countries, from Arabia to West Asia, as well as in the Balkans. These series demonstrate the secular, modern, liberal, European-like way of life in Turkey which makes them envious. Since Turkey is the country closest to them while having some affinity with Europe; they want to pull Turkey to their mess which would make them feel a little bit better. Turkey hosts a great number of tourists from Iran and other Middle Eastern countries who come here to enjoy the liberal and European way of life as they wish. Iranian women take off their hijab at the airport. For them; Turkey is the closest country they can get to easily and get a bit of the European air.



No one claims Turkey is %100 European. As I stated; it's Eurasian, and probably the closest country to Europe amongst those that are not fully European. During the Balkan Wars; over 10 million people identifed as Turkish or Muslim migrated to Anatolian soil, which was larger than the Anatolian population itself at that time.

No matter how much they keep babbling; I will not just shut my mouth and keep my opinion to myself. This is why I'm creating this thread.

Which MENA member here is associating himself to Turks and Turkey? In my generation, nobody even heard of Turkey when the country decided to opened up relations with the Arab world in the late 2007. Before that, not a single person ever gave a shit to a nation that they know very little about considering that Turkey was pretty isolated from the rest of the middle east for many decades. Turkey had lost it's position among the top ten most visited countries in the world due to the incompotence of the government in not fighting against terrorism very well, and really, the number of Arab tourists that are going to Turkey is also been declining pretty quickly as well:

Yes, Turks are NOT Europeans, and the majority of Europeans don't want Turkey to be in the EU due to historical grudges against the Turks, and that they are already facing great problems with the Turkish migrants in Europe and they don't want anymore Turks to migrate to their respective countries.
