The story recounts the early life of Genghis Khan who was a slave before going on to conquer half the world including Russia in 1206.



Yesterday, as soon as I saw in the city guide that this movie was just released in Greece, I left work earlier, grabbed a taxi and rushed to see it...

I am still in awe, it was one of the best film I've seen in years, and undoubtedly the best historical film I've seen in years.

Nothing like 300 ultra-fake battle scenes and digital effects. This one was as realistic as it can get, still wonderfully and artistically directed.

The guy that plays Genghis Khan is absolutely amazing, his acting is close to perfection...

The movie is in the Mongolian and Mandarin languages, a fact that makes it even more intriguing.

Good to know, 300 was one of the worst-made films I had ever seen. When I stepped out of the cinema I wondered why I had just wasted a few hours of my life, and paid for it!

The historical accuracy has nothing to do with its failure. It was just badly made and looked intensely fake. Bad acting and even worse visual effects.

It sounds as though you're an adherent of OneEnglishNorman's Mongoliformed Influenced Europe theory.

It was amusing the way the boundary on his maps kept shifting, I think to try & avoid offending the wrong people. He eventually decided to include all of Germany in the Fully Caucasiod Zone.
