Where's Arthur? Where's the Hound of Ulster? Where's Bryhtnoth? Where's Sigefrith? Where's Calgacus? Where's Vercingetorix? Where's Aetius? Where's Roland? Where's Robin Hood? Nelson? William Tell? El Cid? Caratacus? Wallace? Venutius?
I'd never dare try compile such a poll!
But Boudicca wins, no bother!

As I said, you could fit so many heroes it's not even fair to vote, so I won't cast it.

Ten years ago, my students voted (from a list compiled by themselves) for "Person of the Millennium" (yes, I told them they were a year early, but, what are ya gonna do?). Their winner? Gutenberg! I think their choice was a good one.
BTW, who was number two? Believe it or not, my little munchkins at private school (that was before I whored out and got a public sector teaching gig) picked: Adolph Hitler! Funny, eh?
It Ain't Rocket Surgery!

1)Guglielmo Pelle.
He was a genoese consul in the 1149 who became known as "matamoros".
This name was given him when the genoese fleet with 226 ships and 12000 soldiers assaulted the city of Almeria.
At the top of the battle Guglielmo Pelle ran with his sword trough the enemy line(sicut leo inter bestias)slaughtering tens of enemies and giving a great contribute to free the city from the invaders.

I'm not usually one to speak fondly of albanians, but I think an extremely important figure in Balkan history, and a very inspiring one, was Georg Castrioti Skanderbeg. His military feats are nothing short of incredible. But he was one of the old school albanians. I'm also a big fan of the Catholic crusaders like Prince Eugene, Janos Hunyadi, and Don John.
