My aunt and uncle have been to east Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, China,Malaysia etc) and admire the history and culture.

I'd only prefer South Asia since that is my heritage.

If it weren't India I'd probably live in West Asia (Turkey, UAE, Iran if it ever became secular, etc)

East Asia has the greatest intersection of modern economic vibrancy, scientific advancement and ancient history not only out of Asia, but in the entire world. Nowhere is there this scale of massive futurism alongside a very deep ancient civilization.
