One thing I noticed about internet forums is people are easily replaceable. It's like having favorite players on a sports team when they get traded away. You're annoyed that a player you liked was traded away but you quickly adjust to the new dynamic and since you like other players on the team you quickly get over the loss.

An employer once said to me, "Nobody is irreplaceable." It sounded very harsh at the time but it is true. As you say, people adjust to new dynamics very quickly and whilst many are remembered fondly, nobody is ever sorely missed. People fade away even in death, not because they are forgotten but because life goes on.

I'd like to imagine that somewhere ten or twenty years someone from here hears or experiences something I described or said here and thinks, "Hey, I used to be on this internet forum AGES ago and I think there was this women (I can't remember her name) who once mentioned something similar to this." That would be very cool for me. Of course I'd never know it, but I'd like to believe that I've touched at least one life here enough in order to be remembered in the mists of time. (And hopefully for something good or funny.)

Awww... thank you and thank Allah for internet access on cell phones. Although being Muay Thai ready will no doubt take time away from my shit posting.

This is how I view posters who eventually disappear. Gone but not forgotten. Brave souls who stepped on an internet forum mine and was lost to us all.
