Yeah they are your peoples imo and your diaspora who immigrated long time ago. There are also few Laz in Georgia I think with some of the Muslim and some others Christians.

They do not migrated, they are caucasus people and always lived in east and south east black sea.
Their closest brothers are Megrelians, west Georgian people.

DarkSecret is right. Laz are original people of South East cost, in Hopa and Rize. Some muslim Adjarians, as many other muslim Caucasians have migrated in 19 century to Turkey due to repressions in Russian Empire agianst muslims. There are Georgian villages even in Bursa. They migrated there. But Laz are original people of Rize and Artvin.
