I'd like to ask @user_ why Stalin banished Laz people from Georgia. Even today Laz population is actually very small in Georgia. I don't think only "Russian Empire" is responsible for this. Georgian Stalin was so friendly towards other Kartveli peoples?

Did he?
He banished turko-meskhetians, but not Laz. Any sources that Stalin banished Laz people?
He banished only proturkish nationalities. Laz in Georgia are random Georgians, just like others, and they definitely don't feel any closeness to Turks, they are not even muslims.

Stalin actually wiped Turks of Meshket and sent them to death to Siberian coldness but didnt touch a single Muslim Batumi from what İ know. Stalin was a bit racist.

Here says Laz, Hemshinis, and Ahiska Turkics were banished. Laz were banished to Kyrgyzstan. He didn't touch Adjarians. They were muslim Georgians. Words of an Ahiska Turkic. Says they were happy in Batumi and getting along with other ethnicities.
