Paris is the city where I was born. I'm glad not to live there anymore, I can't find the magic in that overcrowded gray megapolis full of soulless people, that huge urban maze. I enjoy myself in southern cities like Toulouse, Montpellier and Bordeaux.

This Paris syndrome reminds me in many ways the Weltschmerz I always feel when I travel the world.

Paris sucks nowadays.

With the exception of few areas like Montmartre and Saint-Michel most of the city is just like any other degenerate urban aglomeration. Dirty, brutal, gray, full of criminals and bandits. The quantity of Africans is amazing. I'm not racist, but I never saw so much blacks together in my entire life. It does not look like Europe.

Maybe it was nice in the 50's and 60's, but now it's a shithole.

The thing is Montmartre like Croix Rousse in Lyon are placed on a hillock, therefore you'd only find ppl who's living and tourists there, however for the most part.
Another point to take into consideration is that you have a very ethnic quarter at the very down of Montmartre (Chateaux-Rouge, La Goutte D'or, etc..) which tend to amplificate that concentration phenomenon like.
Anyway from a quarter to another it can be very mixed like not at all, and intermediate in between, like almost every big cities actually.

It's because you saw it with the eyes of a busy tourist. As for myself, I always feel unconfortable when I have to spend a few hours in Paris. But some people who live there really love the City of Lights, because they are able to spot any secret concealed behind each street corner. Those details are usually overseen by the tourists who are always in a hurry because they only have a few days to visit "the big five": the Eiffel Tower, the Arch of Triumph, Notre-Dame, The Louvre and Montmartre. Once they took a selfie in front of all these places, their bucket list is filled.
But Paris has much more to offer; every cobblestone has a story to whisper. Only true poets like Jim Morrison are able to understand their language.

No, Florida. I've never even heard of Miami, California. The only other Miami I know of is in Ohio and I only know about it because they have a university with a respectable football team.
