Why in the world are all the Swedish houses red? Well, let me tell you a story.. It all began back in the 1400-century when the King at that time wanted his castle to have the same beautiful copper roof he had seen in Castles in Europe. Coffee is very very important to a Swede and if you want to make some coffee and have a fika, you better make it right! Hence, here is a little film about how to make the Swedish "kokkaffe" or boiled coffee. Kokkaffe is a classic old tradition where you boil coarsely grounded coffee with water and bring it to a boil. One old traditional way of making coffee, or kaffe as we call it, is to boil it also called "kokkaffe" (koka = boiling). If you ask me, the best way of doing kokkaffe is to make ut over an open fire.
