I wouldn't have been critical if you lost your job but you said you quit and then joked about how you laughed when you saw Swedes going to work in the morning to pay for your benefits. You said you didn't like the job and you were tired of people making money off of you. You didn't say they were downsizing initially. Who quits their job just because the company is downsizing? Unless they found a more stable job during that period no one does because it doesn't make any sense to do so.

I never said I quit like that, I never would quit on my own initiative because then you must wait for a long period to receive money. You must have misunderstood due to bad phrasing on my part. I had to leave/quit/fired the job like 3 others because of the economy. But you are correct that I was tired of work a while after I had left the job. Was burnt out so doctor prescribed a couple of months to rest, so I did not have to apply for another job during that time period. Now I am motivated again and ready to work and pay taxes like a good citizen.

The entitlement mentality is astounding here.

I will agree that there is a need for a certain amount of welfare in society, enough for people to bounce back if they encounter unforeseen difficulties. But to take pride in it? That's absolutely ridiculous. People should be grateful and humbled to receive welfare, there's nothing to be proud about. Also, a decent person would do whatever he can to get out of receiving welfare.

6 months is taking a holiday. No motivated, semi-educated functioning male need take that long to find work of some form. For shame.

Welfare is there as a safety net for the vulnerable, not the able bodied.

No, a free market system with a safety net is what every society needs.

It depends. If one person is on welfare because of real necessity, is a honest person, pay taxes etc, and because he/she is poor and/or can't find a job, no, he/she shouldn't be ashamed. If the person does not want to work or refuse some work opportunities even if he/she could accept them just because does not like the job, maybe yes. Depends much on situation.

when you are ill and/or go through a special situation like what you said or when someone you love dies and it throws you out of life then it is ok of course . especially when you look for a job again once you are okay . but there are people who love on it because of pure selfishness . thats not ok

See, the thing is, no-one told you you couldn't respond. You are the one asking for a break.

Did you actually quit, or were you sacked?
