I think the Cretan come out as "Cyprian" because Cretans aren't included in the spreadsheet.

I'm curious about Cretans. On spreadsheets the only difference between Cypriots and Cretans is that Cypriots have more SW Asian admixture the rest of the components are similar, which is why Cypriots shift towards modern Levant more than other Greek-speaking populations. I would like to see Cretans on intra-European PCAs though.

ok that was my mistake. Cretans are definitely not identical to Lebanese, they are somewhere between Cypriots and other Greeks genetically. But Cypriots are almost identical to Lebanese from what I've seen on PCAs and population averages

Sitia's brachycephaly most likely came from Armenians.

First you post a gypsy as the average "ethnic Cretan" then you ask if they are Levantines. Well no neither Cretans not even Cypriots are Levantines but they are of course related to them to Lebanese and Jews.
