Some look like they stem from a very different root, they differ alot from each-other.

I don't know much about classification, but I know for sure #9 is in no way a Finn. He looks like his parents may be immigrants from Russia, or somewhere from east/south Europe.

Btw the above poster is right: Finns are, as a people, very ethnically heterogenous. There really isn't even such a thing as a "typical Finn", it's just a bunch of different tribes who happen to live in the same country.

    EDIT:

I found the guy on the FKF's website, and his surname is the very plain Finnish Hautalahti. Hmmm .... perhaps he really is a Finn after all, or his father is.

I was under the impression that Finns were rather homogeneous compared to other European countries. But you are probably right ... besides various Finnic tribes, you have Swedish influence on the west coast, and Saami in the north.

I can't see any photos in this thread so I followed the link.

I would definetely mistake him for a Greek (even the country's colors match )

    OMG....scary!!

    He looks north-pontid to me:

    Looks Balkanian:

Identical twin of my finnish friend Jenni! (see my FB friends) Uncanny resemblance!!

    Jenni:

    Looks Swedish

Very finnish and absolutely beautiful face!

Do people agree with me in that this could be called a 'typical Finn'?

Beautiful face yes, but I wouldn't say his facial structure is typically Finnish. I've seen Russians from the St. Petersburg area who look like that.

    Hmm ... not sure.

Well, in the sense that he embodies one of 2-3 typically "Finnish" protypes, yes.

Haha my bad, sorry. I looked at the descriptions beneath the pics.

In this case, you are spot-on and I would agree. up

I do not know what a typical Finn looks like, but I will put my one cent in.

I think #3 looks more like Norwegians I have seen.

I think #12, or #17 looks like some of my Finn relatives.

I have seen hair color vary from solid brown, to brown-red, to blond with a touch of red. All have light eyes, at least hazel.
