Which do you prefer: lions or tigers?

I would prefer to be a lion and living in a society with a rich and diverse culture of communications than to be a lonely narrow minded beast like tigers are.

I’ve voted for tigers, but certainly, felids are my favorite animals overall. Ironically, although being a primate, I find primates in general pretty ‘low’, considering their ridiculous, overly complex social rituals and the fact that they are often prey animals. On the other hand, we’ve literally put carnivora on leashes and in cages. That would be at least some sort of a redeeming quality.

This is a tough one. Both are cool and stand out in their own way. On one hand lions live in prides and the males have manes which makes them unique in the cat family. Also the vast majority of wild lions live in the open grasslands/savannas of Africa which IMO is a much more interesting habitat than where tigers live. On the other hand, tigers are striped, they are good swimmers, and they are part of a lineage that is distinct from the other big cats(they are most closely related to Snow leopards apparently). They are also solitary and reclusive which is something introverts like me can identify with.

So overall I'd say tigers by a bit.
