Indeed, this would also prevent inbreeding. I believe in certain regions of modern day Romania, such records were introduced after the XVI century. Although when I researched for the genealogical tree, I could not get from the local Archive any record older than 1850 or so.
There were cases (albeit very rare) where the name of the one of the child’s parents did not exist in the record, the reason being illegitimacy.

Yes, of course. On my paternal side they were Greek Catholics but when it comes to marrying cousins, they have the same policy- is forbidden.

How can it become more likely that ALL of your ancestry is from one village if you dig deeper?

My 64 4xgreat grandparents, which means at abt. 1800 AD, are frome here (white dots):

So I'm obviously kind of "homeless" in a local sense. And that is in my case - as you can see - not exactly getting better by all Germans being expelled from east of the Oder-Neiße-line.

I've some few undisturbed ancestor's areas and I'm aware of them and I do appreciate them, but I'm also aware of that they do make up only a small proportion of my ancestry.

My paternal grandparents are from Pindus mountains and my maternal grandparents are split between Constantinpole and Thessaloniki city so Im a mongrel between mountain village boy and city slicker.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph. 6:12

Definition of untrustworthy and loose character are those that don't believe in God.

This is caricatured and comical, but still there is true there https://vukajlija.com/licanin/644614

Actually it can be said for other Krajinians as well, not only for Ličani.
