The 'striking' face of a mystery man who died in Derbyshire 4,500 years ago is revealed using forensics and 3D mapping

3D maps reveal 'striking' face of man from 4,500 years ago

His remains were first excavated from a burial mound in Derbyshire in the 1930s, when he was found buried alongside a stone pendant which was likely worn as a necklace. Now, the fractured bones of his face have been pieced together like 'a jigsaw' by researchers to reveal what he would have looked like in life. Right shows a digital copy of the surviving facial bones of the man's skull.
