There are more people with dark eyes but we also have a lot of people with light eyes. I would say it's somewhere around 65-35% from what I've seen. Other regions may have different ratios. I'm counting only blue, gray and green, not hazel or anything like that. (for example I have hazel eyes, and I consider them to be dark)

Usually in these charts you have light eyes (generaly only blue), mixed eyes (grey, green, and various combinations with those colours and with the blue one), dark eyes (the rest).

For Portugal the Light-Mixed eye figure would be 22% (7% only Blue and 15% mixed shades of Blue with gray and green and between the latter two colours).

mixed also includes hazel eyes and light brown so I have to correct you: Portuguese are darker eyed than Southern Italians like Calabrians, Sardinians and Sicilians since hazel eyes were not included in the light group by Livi if you were referring to him: he defined light eyes as blue and grey and while some green could have been included in grey, it's not really the case for hazel.
in Sardinia the pc of light and mixed eyes is 30% in Cosseddu and about 33% in Maxia. https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storia...della_Sardegna

Well I think Tamagnini Barbosa didn't include Hazel in the mixed eye category, let me check it.

    Here it is,

According to him, the measure of the colour of eyes was done according to the K.Saller scale from the book,"Leiftaden der Anthropologie" from 1930.

And what does he says about the mixed eyes?

"All the eyes of mixed pigmentation corresponding to the terms of M1 to M22 of the scale; or so to speak, the greenish and blueish eyes where it is also posible to recognize the existence of brown pigmentation in a larger or shorter proportion."

looks like mixed includes green-brown eyes and hazel eyes then because hazel is still a mix of green and brown.

We would have to read the book K.Saller which is very obscure and I don't find the book nearby.

Anyway we should take this studies with a grain of salt, for example the percentage of Blue eyes (and only blue eye figure) in Viana do Castelo is higher than in Piedmont.......

From my personal estimation when I was in Romania the percentage would be something like:
70-75% dark eyes, and any form of its shades.
    the rest light eyes.

My friends and me are quite regular Spaniards and people in Romania thought we were Romanians. I did not notice Romanians were shorter ot taller than Spaniards, nor darker or lighter (I did notice there were many many Gypsies, and many people who by balls had to be mixed).

    Romanian girls were hot.

considering that Hungary and Switzerland have about 40% of light eyes, that sounds like a reasonable estimate for Romania considering that depigmentation is usually correlated with geography.

Depends on region, Romania is a country made from more historical region, everyone was influenced by someon, if you are goin in a bar in Iași (east Romania), many of the people will be blonde with blue eyes, a lot of east slavic influences, if you will go in Craiova (south Romania) people will become more darker.

I really doubt you have been in every historical region, and that's why it is hard to estimate, becuase romanians looks different.
