My Romanian grandfather had light blue eyes and my grandmother had dark brown (her father had green eyes). Bottom line, there is a lot of variety of eye color in Romania and its a mistake to stereotype.

I was going to start a new topic "Pigmentation of Romanians" since I have a lot of data, but I can just post it here instead.
This is from Pittard, 1926
Eye color charts:
"Gray" has very high percentages so it probably includes dark gray (what we call dark green)
Eye color by region:
Eye color map (distribution of dark eyes):
Hair Color:
Another eye color study on smaller sample, but since the numbers for "gray" are different, it likely features a breaking between light and dark gray. It gives overall light eyes at 32%.
My educated guess on Romanian eye color excavated from these studies (men only):
Stacked and overlapping:
Pure Bue 12%
Bue and gray-blue 18%
Blue, gray-blue and light gray (light green) 32%
Blue and all gray (incl. dark gray or green) 45%
Blue, all gray and mixed 58%
....
Pure brown 42%
