my russian teacher is half udmurt half ukrainian but he looks completely euro. i guess there's variation though just like every minority group. as a whole uralic groups are eurasian to me.

It’s said the Udmurts have more red haired people than the Irish. Plus, my ancestors must have been living in that area thousands of years ago before they settled in Punjab and it’s amazing how my family still have preserved the red hair gene considering it’s very uncommon among people of Indian origin.

From some Saami GEDmatch results I've seen the two populations seem to have significant crossover. Make of that what you will, I think they learn more towards Central Asian genetically. The Red hair as a result of consistent inbreeding over time.
