It is an interesting subject, but the thread has been ruined by butthurt and childish exchange of insults between some members.

I think Russia is it's own world, a blend of Asia and Europe, Russians should be proud of who they are instead of trying to be ''Europeans'' or Westerners. Dugin once wrote that what saves Russia to belong to the degenerate western culture is the fact that it's not pure white and european, it's a hell of a great thing these days.

When I see some elements of the Russian culture, like it's literature, popular traditions and even regular behavior, I see an amazing civilization that stands on it's own. No need for Russians to be ''Europeans''. Russia is above all this degeneration brought to the world by the Anglo-American empire.

The presence of Tatars, Finno-Ugrics, Mongols, Siberians etc. should be a matter of pride in Russia, not shame. It's the same feeling I have about my own country, despite the fact I'm ''white'' I really like the fact we have a lot different peoples that makes us a different thing from Western Europeans or Anglo-Americans. We don't need to ape the failed civilization that Western Europe built in the last two centuries.

So my opinion, following Dugin, is that not even the ''European'' part of Russia is European and Western, Russia is it's own thing, a proud and great civilization that is a mix between different influences.

What are you talking about? Russia - Rus, it was created by the Vikings together with the Slavs, absorbed the features of the Eastern Roman Empire. In Asia, Russia expanded only after the XVII century. And to this day the Russians did not mix with the Asian peoples. I have nothing to do with Asia. Most Russians are not connected with Asia.
