I think the clan was from roma, so maybe the rules were different.

I read to enter cosa nostra (sicilian mafia) you must be sicilian. But what sicilian mean? Being an ethnic sicilian or born in the island?
Because recently sicilian mafia start to work withh africans gang.

I don't know about "Cosa Nostra", but i know the case of an Albanian, if i am not wrong he is from the region of Durrës. He became part of malavita in Napoli and was integrated in Camora. And he made his career becoming a member of some importance in the organizational structure of the Camora. What helped him, was the fact that he married with a girl from one of this powerful families.
To him has been assigned a neighborhood of the city and he has thus become a true boss.
Even the Mafia follow the trend of globalization and multi-ethnic society.

I think that the mafia had been exclusively for native Italians or at least Europeans back in the early 20th century. Today, they soften their stance on foreigners by allowing them into the organization for reasons unknown.

I read that italians and albanians criminals are pretty friendly to each other (in europe, in USA it seems to be the opposit). But I'am surprise an albanian totally integrate an italian clan. The marriage probably help the process and he also probably gave many proof of his implication.

Well, as i explained is a mix of his personal abilities and(i am sure about this) part of his scheme was the marriage with this girl. Nothing new, from antiquity, in all the societies etc, the marriage has always been used as a instrument for the career.

Italians despise the mafia, make no mistake. I remember more than a decade ago about Al Pacino being booed when he visited Italy, because they hate the romantisation of the mafia, who are ultimately the scum of the Earth.
