It seems a bit wasteful and a tad materialistic. I can understand if you have the money then its not a big deal. Isn't two million dollars just for a wedding over-doing it? I've never seen a wedding go over $100,000 dollars even by first-world standards unless its some kind of nobility or millionaire.
I feel it would be more prudent to reinvest that money in stocks, mutual funds or some kind of business venture.
Nevertheless, everyone's concept of money is different. Interestingly enough, this follows the nouveau riche approach opposed to the more conservative/tactful "old money" approach.
“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.”
