Default Do you consider Turks and Greeks a different race?

It's well established that people think of Greeks as white and European, but the same cannot be said for Turks, who are seen as Middle Eastern. Does that mean that most of you consider Greeks a different race from the Turks?

Never said that either were a race. It's just that the former is considered white and european, while the latter is generally considered middle eastern.

From a genetic point of view, yes, they are very different. Turks have high central, western and south Asiatic admixture in their genepool along with significant Southern and Eastern European admixture coming from the slave trade of many White women from these places during the Ottoman empire. Greeks only have some substantial west Asiatic admixture coming from pre-Turkic Anatolia and the Caucasus, and they cluster the closest to Tuscans and other southern Europeans than to west Asiatics like Turks, Kurds, Persians and so on.

Greeks have much more European blood (defined as WHG or something like that) and they are culturally and geographically European. Turkey is linguistically Turkic, religion-wise Muslim and geographically predominantly West Asian/Middle Eastern (97% of the total territory). However, they are more European than other Middle Eastern people due to both proximity to Europe and the assimilation of a certain amount of Europeans (Balkan Slavs, Greeks, Albanians, etc.).

If by European you mean Steppe IE ancestry then Greeks are only partially it, since antiquity in fact.

White means mainly someone coming from the European continent, from a European country having a European culture (yes there's such a thing), and since all the countries in europe happen to be white (some lighter, some darker, but white nevertheless) white is being associated with Europeans and not with Muslims, Turks or the middle east.

This is a tricky one. Many Greeks and Turks can pass as the other, but the majority wouldn't. (But then, there are plenty of European pairings where the majority wouldn't really pass as the other, and likewise plenty of Middle Eastern pairings where that occurs). Greeks are European, albeit with more Mediterranean and West Asian admixture than most, while Turks are a Central Asian-Persian-Anatolian-Balkan-Mediterranean hybrid. In conclusion, they are pretty different, even though they can overlap.
