There are parts of Brazil that are very homogenous however.

For example, I visited the Northeast once where virtually everyone was a Pardo of the same boring colonial stock (SSA + Amerindian + Portuguese) - but with mostly a highly African-influenced vibe.
No recent Italian, German, Japanese or Levantine immigrants...

Brazilians always try to paint their country as the most diverse and mixed country ever, but when I was there, I didn't see much diversity at all.

    Blatantly untrue.

This could technically be said of any country, and is closer to being true of Brazil than of Japan, but Brazil does not have a great deal of Northern or Eastern European phenotypes, nor a great deal of Asian ones. The US does, plus plenty of the phenotypes Brazil has.

Not true. Brazil has a lot of Whites but they are still 'pardo' (mixed/brown) in their majority.

Here you are talking about Recife-PE, which is Pardo-triracial, the states further north are mostly mestizos

The south of Brazil has many northern and eastern euro ancestry/phenotypes and also the biggest japanese diaspora in the world. But I agree that the USA is even more diverse nowadays, even major European cities are more diverse than south American ones nowadays, I mean with more people of different origins.
