What makes pharmacy and pharmacology low verbal if its a service led profession where you have to communicate with the general public? I would have expected mathematics and chemistry/other sciences as low on verbal.

Verbality is not mentioned here as you understand it...
"verbality as a quality and functioning of the science field" is schematized here. rather than verbality as a human action.
like in all physical-natural sciences such as biology-chemistry-pharmacology, you cannot go beyond cause-effect... "almost always" there is no metaphysical nor social nor intellectual aspect in it...Relationships that are less likely to change are always the subject of research in Physical or Natural Sciences.

mathematics is a formal science.
hence the name it does not physically exist in nature, but only tries to explain abstract concepts in human thought that cannot be perceived by the senses or experience,it's an a priori knowledge Based on hypothesis and theory rather than experiment or empirical evidence..
using the deductive method directly through reason but not with the experience... (unlike the natural sciences which are using inductive reasoning)
so maths consist of theoretical symbols and rules which only can be applied to reality.....so in other case it's a language!!! thus has a strong verbal side...

chemistry is not verbal at all..imo just uses maths.... it's a natural science.

i'd like to add computer programming has a strong verbal nature. as well.
you learned a new language or you learned Ruby or Python programming language for example. cognitively the same thing.
plus all languages are just symbolizations of things really exist.

So If Anything could be a crosscheck methodology to the natural sciences or If anything related to symbols (used in place of reality. passing as reality) in a form of language-expression is verbal.
