There actually are real arguments to support it. There are always things to consider.
For example, my YiaYia’s maiden name (from Thessaloniki) was “Zlat”oudis, which clearly hints some Slavic etymology for some Greek-Macedonian surnames.
Furthermore, it’s a fact that people from northern Greek regions had a lot more contact with foreign populations from the north of them. At one point there were a lot of Slavs (Bulgarians primarily) inhabiting areas of Thrace and Central Macedonia along with Greeks, not to mention some smaller ethnic groups, such as the Vlachs (genetically more Romanian) who were quickly integrated as fellow Greeks. Southern Greeks remained more isolated from foreign influence as opposed to northern Greeks, ESPECIALLY the islanders..
If you take a look at some GEDMatch results, you will see a clear-cut difference between the Southern Greeks who are more south-shifted and the Northern Greeks who are more north-shifted.

You're not quoting a ghost. Sikeliot, the user who banned himself almost 3 years ago, is still extremely active on Reddit and is redpilling the masses like there's no tomorrow about the Slavicness of Greeks and the Levantinity of Southern Italians XD
