The Rohingya were indigenous Bengali muslim people who lived in Southern Burma/Arakan state until 1785 when the Burmese invaders conquered that region and during the British rule more bengali muslims migrated and mixed with the indigenous bengali people of Arakan state

Well Arakan already had a native mongoloid muslim people...infact rohingya are bengali offshoots and were brought there by the british (same as the tamils in Sri Lanka).
