Genes vs Height Correlation

Hi! I was wondering how large of an effect genes and your haplogroups have on you being tall or not. Most of the tallest people come from the Dinaric Alps and the Netherlands at roughly 185cm give or take. I haven't done a DNA test so most of my guesses are pure speculation unfortunately. Personally from what I know, my family has stayed in Bulgaria for centuries and most likely isn't from the Alps or the Netherlands especially and the average height in Bulgarian males is around 175cm. I am personally 184.5 barefoot so something doesn't add up. What does being tall consist of mainly? Genes or foods or something else? Thanks.

Any reason why there isn't? I mean I'm pretty new to all of this and from what I've seen, people who are tall (Europeans) generally come from ex-Yugo countries and particularly the Dinaric Alps as well as Scandinavia: The two regions that have the highest concentration of the I haplogroup. On the other hand, regions that have little to none of it (Spain, Portugal) record very short average male heights.

I mean I'm pretty new to all of this and from what I've seen, people who are tall (Europeans) generally come from ex-Yugo countries and particularly the Dinaric Alps as well as Scandinavia: The two regions that have the highest concentration of the I haplogroup. On the other hand, regions that have little to none of it (Spain, Portugal) record very short average male heights.

It is one of many leftpedic myths.
If it would be true, then Old Europe would be the highest region in ancient world.
But wans't.
At the time when I-men dominated the non-eastern Europe, the
highest folk were Indoeuropeans who lived in eastern Europe.
All were R1. according to the myth, should be shorter than OE I-men.
But the reality was quite opposite.

And the hight from the regions you mentioned is high today.
Yet 100 years ago these regions were not so high, especially Holland.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I guess that makes sense.. So I guess it is just a coincidence then. As for my DNA results, I haven't done a test yet, unfortunately. All I know is that my family is almost 100% from Bulgaria (from what I now) and how I'm generally around 5-10cm taller than the average Bulgarian so I was just wondering. I really have no idea what I am and curiosity is getting to me haha. :/
