Post Strange, Weird and Scary Things

OK,this is not a pic or video,but a paragraph(in fact that's the last paragraph) extracted from Decameron,9th tale of 2nd day

"As for Ambrogiuolo, the very same day that he was bound to the stake, the honey with which his body was anointed attracted such swarms of flies, wasps and gadflies, wherewith that country abounds, that not only was his life sucked from him but his very bones were completely denuded of flesh; in which state, hanging by the sinews, they remained a long time undisturbed, for a sign and a testimony of his baseness to all that passed by. And so the deceived had the better of the deceiver."
I was 14 year old when I read the tale for the first time,even the character Ambrogiuolo was a villain,but his end is really gruesome ,I was frightened a lot while reading this for the 1st time.

Please use sidewalks




This picture shows a dirt path worn across the grass on a university campus. Notice how the path is in the most convenient place to walk relative to the crosswalk painted on the street and the dip in the curb. It looks like there should be a sidewalk here, but someone forgot to put it in. Instead of putting in a sidewalk, someone put in a sign to try to tell people not to walk on the grass.




Here is a close-up picture of the "Keep off the grass" sign! Do you think this sign is really going to work?


Design suggestion

Take a hint from people's behavior. If they find it convenient to walk in a particular place, put in a sidewalk, not a barrier. This is an example of "natural" design.

I see these a lot in my dreams, especially while having sleep paralysis. Not fun at all.

Didn't look at the video but is there any connection to sleeping on your back? I almost always sleep on my side and I've noticed sometimes if I accidentally fall asleep on my back I'll have bad dreams or be randomly jolted awake for some reason which doesn't normally happen. Never had sleep paralysis either but I've heard that can be part of it.

Yes you are correct. I only have sleep paralysis when I’m sleeping on my back, and it usually occurs after I’ve been slightly woken up from something.
There is a science behind lying on your back and nightmares. I wanna say your body and mind go into alert mode easier. I’ll have to look up the correlation again and provide you with the studies.

Sounds more like a common peeping Tom mate

I had one really scary encounter as a kid.

It was around 2am and still couldnt sleep because it was a damn hot this summer night, so I opened the window and leaned out to catch some cold air.

I was looking to the dark for several minutes till I noticed movement on a wall ca. 20 meters away, It was a man sitting on it, and I thought its just a guy having a beer sitting on it.

Then a car came near, and the dude was laying down and it wasnt a beer in his hand but binoculars, and the light from the car was making him visible to me, he was wearing a skimask and black clothing, splinter cell like.

As a kid I was scared af, and closed to window and only sneakly viewed out of it, he was scouting out a building the whole time.

This really got me not sleep for several nights as kid and still wonder what the fuck he was about.

It was shortly after the 9/11 times so today I think it could possibly be a special unit guy.
