I voted Serbia since they have generally had a more friendly attitude towards Romania, especially compared with Hungary and Hungarians.

Both nations are not really similar. Would have made more sense if it was something like Germany vs Austria, Ukraine vs Russia, Portugal vs Spain, etc.

Both are glorious Eastern Europe! I'd choose Serbia though because of cultural and linguistic differences with the Hungarians. Unite the South Slavs!

Serbia.Hungarians are known as mean and arrogant people, not only here in Romania but everywhere.They generally have a hostile attitude towards non-hungarians, travelers can see this.

What differences did you find between Hungary and Serbia? And who do you think Hungary is more similar to?

I've never been to Serbia unfortunately. I really liked Hungary though. I don't think Hungarians are that similar to other Slav people I've been with, they have their own thing. Hungarians are friendly but quite reserved, Balkanites tend to be more open and easy going. Budapest and Eger looked quite Western whereas Serbia is probably more eastern shifted when it comes to the urban landscape.

I must say that the Hungarian wine culture is a plus to me and in Serbia I like as well their football scene\players, probably the best in the region along with Croatians.
