Why are Ukrainians genetically so Western?

Modern Ukrainians and Russians are genetically closer to Bronze Age Hungary and Poland, than to Bronze Age Ukraine and Russia. Since Hungary and Poland are more to the west than Ukraine and Russia, it means that modern East Slavs are more genetically western than ancient people in the same area. This in turn indicates, that the Proto-Slavic homeland could be located to the west of modern East Slavic lands, close to the Carpathians. Bronze Age Hungarians played a role in Slavic ethnogenesis:

- Elevated segment sharing between BR2 and present-day speakers of Baltic and Slavic languages suggests that BR2, or his close relatives, contributed genealogically in a significant way to the Balto-Slavic expansions that affected most of East Central and Eastern Europe during the Iron Age and early Medieval period.

Think about it, more genetically western than Bronze Age Central Europeans, and as western as Late Bronze Age Germans.
