Rubbish. The Turks and Persians were perpetual enemies of the Empire and never embraced the Greco-Roman civilization. They rejected Greco-Roman values which were respect for democracy, freedom, justice and the rule of law which is something that Islam has never had any regard for and why there has never been an Islamic democracy. They always attacked Byzantium and believed in slavery and subjugation. The state paid very close attention to business controlling the economy; which is a system to which all tradesmen and members of the professions set wages, profits, work hours, and prices while bankers and doctors were organized into corporations. Security and wealth encouraged an active political, cultural, and intellectual life.
Latins called it "Center of World", Turks called it "Kizil Elmas", Scandinavians "Miklegarth", Russians "Tsarigrad",
