Gotta love the Chinese I hope that their quality is just as good ? If so screw the JSF and buy some Chinese stuff on the cheap.

J-11s are Chinese version of the export version of the Su-27, hardly great.

The reason which lead to the sudden stop in the production line of the J-11 was the obsolete avionics and radar, which were structured for aerial missions. A PLAAF evaluation of the first 100 J-11's revealed that the aircraft lacked any true precision-strike capabilities, only being able to deliver unguided freefall bombs.[citation needed] With a contract of an initial 200 J-11 allowed to be produced in Shenyang under the Chinese-Russian contract made in the 90's, the PLAAF decided to modernize the J-11 with domestic radar, avionic suites, manufacture methods and material upgrades to extend the life of the aircraft in service.

No, just buy the real thing produced by Europeans. Russia would love to supply countries and would question the Netherland's position on NATO as a result.

We should leave NATO anyway and opt for a Caribbean alliance with the United States, Britain and other countries in the area such as Panama and Colombia in order to protect our interests in the West Indies.

Europe is stable or so it seems and thus we should buy non-European and non-American aircraft as they can actually make it off the drawing board and are far cheaper.

NATO could be replaced by a Pan-European defence treaty including America and Russia. Basically it'd preserve the status quo and any disallow military invasions of any European country. The penalty for invading would be all the other members of the treaty would declare war on the aggressor.

No we shouldn't. Europe has fighter jets in production and available, there is no need to by cheap, obsolete tech from China that will fall apart.

France and Sweden have good, independent defence industries. Britain, Italy and Germany also have major defence industries which co-operate on many projects such as the Eurofighters.
Recently India cancelled getting Eurofighters in favour of getting a cheaper French fighter. So despite having their own defence industry, India still buys better quality products from Europe. These aren't the sorts of things to be bought on the cheap, you have to buy quality. European manufacturers offer quality and compete in different price ranges, that is why the French won the contract - they undercut the competition.

I don't think the Netherlands will be invaded any time soon though, it has France, Germany and Britain on its borders. Thus only they, America or Russia could pose a threat to the Dutch territories in Europe.


People should support their own national industries (within reason). Upon failing that they should aim to support industries of fellow Europeans. Let's not make the Asians any richer.
