Furthermore, some countries, particularly those in sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Middle East have even seen a decline in average height over the past 30 to 40 years.

How tall we grow is strongly influenced by nutrition and environmental factors, although an individual's genetic factors may also play a role.

Children and adolescents who are better nourished and live in better environments tend to be taller, and height may even be influenced by a mother's health and nutrition during pregnancy.

It has lifelong consequences for health and even education and earnings. Some research suggests people who are taller tend to live longer, gain a better education and even earn more.

There's such a thing as having a representative sample population. The Serbian measurements were performed on students of the sports faculty of one of the universities of Serbia. Athletes and university students both are on average taller than the average in a population, so it's not a representative sample. The Montenegrin study also measured university students, although not the sports faculty specifically.

This study on Kosovar height on the other hand measured high school students, making it likely that if the same sample was measured later in life the result would have been even higher. This is also a generation that was born around the time of a war and economic crisis.

It's confusing to follow this and try to judge whether or not this is a good study.
    s. A total measured subject participated in this research was 193 out of which (93 girls and 100 boys), females average of age is 18.15±0.35 years old (range 18-20 years) and for male 18.26±0.44 years old (range 18-20 years)
That isn't a huge sample size, but it's big enough for it to likely be accurate enough.

I read the report itself in full and it kinda bothers me how shit the English is. It doesn't look professional at all.

You won't be a baller with 180cm! Try again in 10 years.

This study should be expanded upon for all regions of Kosovo, and a nationwide average should be concluded.
This only applies to Albanians that grew up during the communism...There are extremely short people that are not dwarfs , some measure 1.60 and they are men.
but they are all 40+ the young generation is wayyy taller.

Kosovar Albanian guys are indeed huge, not just tall.

80% of the guys I have met from Kosovo were at least 185 cm tall if not more and heavily built.

Kosovar Albanian girls are also tall but still retain a lot their feminity and have not got abnormal heights like the Dutch women have.

Some of the tallest people in Europe you will find in the north Albanian cities of Shkodra, Ulqin, Peja and Gjakova plus Prishtina.

Gypsy or jevg minorities who are not albanians decrease the height.

OP also bare in mind that this study also measures the average height of men of different ages and not just the generation born after 1993 or so. This lowers the average a lot.

The young generation of Kosovar males should be on average 184 cm without exaggerating much.

No one has stereotyped as short. You get influenced too much from online trolling.

Average young male in Tirana is slightly above European average while in Shkodra, Albanian lands in montenegro and in Kosovo the average male is way above European average height.

Most people would feel short walking in Ulqin, Shkodra, Peja or Prishtina.

    Always speaking for ghegs.
