Where do people see the so-called "Balkan peninsula" ? It doesn't fill the requirements of being a peninsula like the Iberian peninsula. What separates Iberia from France is the Pyrenees, and there is a clear geographic distinciot between the Iberian peninsula and France due to the Pyrenees.

Where exactly do people see the natural borders of this "Balkan peninsula" ? What is separating the "Balkan peninsula" from Central Europe? Is Subotica (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subotica) in the Balkans while Szeged (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Szeged) is in Central Europe?
