Ursula Haverbeck sent to prison for holocaust denial

    August 29, 2017

An 88-year-old woman known as the 'Nazi grandma' has been sentenced to two years in jail for denying the holocaust and inciting hatred. Holocaust denier Ursula Haverbeck was handed a two-year prison sentence after she lost her appeal to reverse a 10-month sentence she received earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Haverbeck was found guilty of sedition, the offence of inciting others to hatred and rebellion, after she published several articles in which she denied that the holocaust occurred in local newspaper Stimme des Reiches (Voices of the Reich).

She also wrote a letter to the mayor of Detmold, a city in northern Germany, in which she referred to an Auschwitz as a "lie" and and claimed that the concentration camp was not an extermination camp, but rather a work camp.

She denied that Nazis had gassed Jewish people to death, claiming that it was "not historically proven."

"The Holocaust is the biggest and longest lasting lie in history," Haverbeck said during a television interview when asked about the trial of former SS guard Oskar Groening.

In November, the district court of Verden sentenced her to 10 months in prison for holocaust denial and incitement. Haverbeck's lawyer argued that the sentence violated her freedom of expression and called for her to be acquitted.

The grandmother appealed the court's decision, but on Monday 29 August she was found guilty of eight counts of inciting the German people to holocaust denial and sentenced to two years in prison without parole.

Haverbeck's husband was involved in the national leadership of the Nazi party during the Second World War and the couple maintained strong ties with several right-wing groups before his death.

In 2000, Haverbeck met neo-Nazi lawyer Horst Mahler and shortly afterwards she became deputy director of revisionist group 'Society for the Rehabilitation of Those Persecuted for Refutation of the Holocaust', chaired by holocaust denier Bernard Schaub.

Ursula Haverbeck didn't show up at Prison

Holocaust denier Ursula Haverbeck, convicted several times of sedition, has not followed a call for detention. After the expiration of the deadline, they will now do the "necessary," said a spokesman for the prosecutor, without giving further details.

German neo-Nazi, 89, on the lam after failing to show up for jail term

BERLIN — A Holocaust survivors’ group is urging German authorities to intensify their search for a notorious neo-Nazi who did not show up for her prison sentence.

The International Auschwitz Committee said Sunday it hopes that Ursula Haverbeck, 89, who has been sentenced to two years in prison for incitement, will soon be found.

Burglary: House of imprisoned Ursula Haverbeck devastated!

While the 89-year-old Ursula Haverbeck is imprisoned in the prison Bielefeld - Brackwede for her expression, in her absence someone broke into her home in Vlotho (district of Herford). The perpetrators tried first to break the front door, but failed because of the security precautions. Then they hit a side window and ransacked several rooms inside the home. According to the current state, it is unclear whether they are "normal" burglars or criminal left-wing extremists are behind the act, apparently, however, the perpetrators had looked for valuables, how high the damage inside the home is, is also unknown. The house was meanwhile sealed by the police for the purpose of securing evidence. It is still unclear whether Ursula Haverbeck is allowed to visit her home to check if and which items may have been stolen. Should the administration of the Brackwede Prison refuse to allow such an execution, the investigations would be deliberately torpedoed.

Already it is clear: The prosecutor Verden, which had Ursula Haverbeck arrested with a warrant and torn suddenly from her everyday life, instead of waiting for the decision on the application for the inclusion of the report on the liability, complicity for this incident. In response to this incident, the security and monitoring of the property are increased again, so that it is ruled out that in the future, criminals - of any kind - will take advantage of the situation.

Letter of thanks from Ursula Haverbeck - end of May 2018

For three weeks Ursula Haverbeck sits in the JVA Bielefeld-Brackwede in a sentimental detention. Throughout Germany, the well-known dissident, who also runs as the top candidate of the party "Die Rechte"(The Right) in the European elections in 2019, has reached an unprecedented wave of solidarity - the letters to Ursula Haverbeck are delivered to her prison cell in laundry baskets; the guards told her they had never seen so much mail to one prisoner in the whole history of the prison. Understandably, it is not possible for Ursula Haverbeck to personally answer the hundreds, perhaps already thousands of expressions of solidarity, which is why she addresses herself with an open letter to all friends, supporters and sympathizers!

The following is the letter of thanks from Ursula Haverbeck:

Police seize Ursula Haverbeck posters in Bonn

Bonn. Ursula Haverbeck has been in prison since May. Supporters of the Holocaust denier are demanding her release. Posters have also been hung in Bonn.

    09.07.2018

Police have seized several posters in Bonn and the surrounding area demanding the release of the imprisoned Holocaust denier Ursula Haverbeck. “We are currently assessing whether there is any political motivation for the action,” said a police spokesperson. The State Protection Office was also called in.

The simple posters mostly contain a black and white portrait of Haverbeck or slogans. Officials took down two placards in Bornheim-Hersel on 22 June and in the following days at Jesuitenhof and on Kopenhagener Straße. “They are considered evidence,” said police. The information came from the public. GA readers reported further posters, including one on Gensemer Straße, near the Jewish cemetery at the North Bridge.

The 89-year-old Haverbeck has been convicted several times for sedition and denigrating the memory of the dead. She had repeatedly claimed that the Auschwitz concentration camp was not an extermination camp but rather a work camp. She is therefore regarded as a symbolic figure on the right-wing extremist scene. She repeatedly appealed her sentences thus preventing them coming into force. She was arrested in Vlotho in May and is now in prison in Bielefeld-Senne for two years.

Top German court throws out elderly neo-Nazi's appeal

    08.03.18

BERLIN - Germany's highest court has thrown out a notorious elderly neo-Nazi's case against her conviction for Holocaust denial, ruling that her activities are not covered by a constitutional guarantee of freedom of expression.

In May, 89-year-old Ursula Haverbeck was taken to prison to begin serving a two-year sentence for incitement handed down last year by a court in Verden.

Haverbeck has repeatedly said the Auschwitz death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland was just a work camp. She has been convicted several times but long avoided prison due to lengthy appeals.

The Federal Constitutional Court said in a ruling released Friday that knowingly spreading proven falsehoods "cannot contribute to forming opinions and as such is not covered by the freedom of opinion." It found that denying the Nazi genocide constitutes "disturbing the public peace."

Germany is such a joke today. How is this at all acceptable?

The criminal justice system is really protecting the public from all those "thought" criminals!!!
