Have any of you ever gone a long time without eating?

If so, how did you deal with the discomfort?

Also, I have heartburn from not eating. Is that bad?

I get heartburn from eating just about anything. I have to take a Zantac in order to keep my calories up.

My longest period of fasting amounted to about 60 hours (2.5 days).

I didn't find it that bad. I never had heartburn or anything like that, so I can't answer help you on that front I'm afraid. As for dealing with the discomfort, I suppose I did a lot of reading, which took my mind off of things. I wouldn't recommend such a long fast myself - even if I didn't have any trouble - because I don't know how healthy it is.

I should add that this wasn't a fast undertaken for health or religious reasons, but just something done out of a kind of interest.

A challenge: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

I fasted for 3 days, onetime. I was very weak and it was very hard for me to stay warm, so I ended up laying around and reading on the 3rd day.
I was fighting with myself constantly, considering I had a full refrigerator.

An uncle of mine, right out of high school, looking for some answers in life, rented a hotel room for a few weeks and preceded to fast and drop acid for 10 days. He claimed to speak with god on the tenth day and went on to have a very productive career, making lots of money!

I would find a new bank to deal with if my funds were stopped for 7 days. That is outrageous and I hope you find your friends and family helpful in your time of need.
