The Muslim (Minority) in India vs Hindu (Majority)
The Tamils (Minority) in Sri Lanka vs Sinhala (Majority)
The Rhongya (Minority) in Myanmar vs Myanmarese (Majority)
The Protestant (Minority) in Ireland vs Catholic (Majority)
The conflicts above were all engineered by the colonial British. The word pattern in italics above gives some idea of the Minority-Majority conflict they engineed. The present British generation perhaps not even aware.
I am not saying in a figurative sense. The conflicts were deliberately created out of nothing. The Latin phrase for the policy is dīvide et īmpera or divide-and-rule. When the communities fight each other it weakens their resolve to overthrow colonial rule.
In a nutshell, the minority community leaders are quietly massaged, given perks, bribed and manipulated not to submit to the majority. The only way it gets solved is by a war of session.
A question might arise even after 70 years ending colonial rule fires lit by the British are still burning? Well, admittedly the fires are still raging.
The problem will end very quickly if the “Rhonigya” really know how they were manipulated into a conflict. The information will stop the recriminations and solve an international crisis.
