Possible. But i wonder then how Croats are using that, they weren't in close contact with Albanians during the history. Rethel said that this word also exists in Poland, in some region, so i think at least Polish "vatra" have nothimg to do with Albanian "vater" ? Or am i wrong?

Of course Croats were in contact with Albanians. Until Lustica Peninsula was called Albania.

So it would be like this: Albanian -> Romanian -> Podhale Polish

Croats may not have had much contact with Albanians but Serbs did.

Btw, the word vatra in Eastern European languages is said to be from Iranic. There are IE cognates to vatra that existed in Old Irish and Armenian as well that are not from Iranic. But the ones used in Eastern European languages came from Iranic.

There were many contacts. For example, during the middle age Albanians called all the Slavic people around, Bulgars, servs, Bosnians, etc, Harvats. And if i am not wrong this is the old name of the Croats.

Hrvat, is actually still modern term. That's how actually they are calling themselfs.

Old name could be "Horvath", something like that, if you mean this.

Influences were reciprocal. Albanian also has borrowed from slavic languages.
About Harvats, this is something that someone of the Croat members can explain better.
