There's no good age for videogaming. Period. Unless you are 100 % sure you will not get addicted. Which in my opinion you never are.
    Do what you should.

Most games are 16+, many of them are even 18+, so legally speaking it's more acceptable to play games like CoD, Battlefield, WoW as an adult than as a kid.

Gaming is being attacked in mainstream media and gamers are being ridiculed so alone because of that, it must be something good.

Games boost your analytical way of thinking, intellect, reflexes, teamwork skills, can even give you a lesson from history and learn language, especially for non-native English speaking players who learnt language through playing games.

I made many friends through gaming and it's great side of my life.
The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge.

online videogames can be quite dangerous in this case but i am not attracted to them , i play singleplayers if you get addicted to one of these games you wont waste more than a week to finish the story ... so it vanishes , there are other games out there you can play them but you are not addicted to them until you play them.
there are things more addictive for example than singleplayer videogames , like tv and internet which you are using
    even music is more addictive

I disagree. While online games really never end, offline games can suck you down for quite a time too. For example TES Morrowind. You can play it multiple times for different fractions, races, mods combinations etc. And there are several other games of TES series. Add here other series and you can have years of wasted time. And it's only one genre.
Well, fulfilling life is the best receipt from such addiction. Without it, one can get addicted even to TA. And one really gets, lol.
    Do what you should.

but how is it a waste of time if you enjoy it? lfe only has a sense if it is directed for enjoyment . a waste of time is waiting hours for a doctor visit while not bringing with you anything . a book for example, to distract you .. because you re hating spending that time

I am not into gaming. I only play SNES, Sega Saturn and NES roms at times for nostalgia, and listening the 16/8 bits soundtracks.

There is also a 16-bit fangame being developed I'm interested in, but that's about it. I can also play a good number of SNES game songs in my guitar/bass.
