why are only crappy nations orthodox?

Orthodox Church seems older, but there are a lot of crappy nations/ethnicities that are orthodox (slavs, gayreeks, Caucasians). On the other hand, European civilization is founded on the Catholic Church and all great nations and ethnicities (Albanians, Germans, Italians etc) have been Catholic throughout history. It is clear that Catholics are richer and have contributed much more to European civilization than Orthodox eastern barbarians.

Ancient Greeks were but not the current Greeks. Modern Greeks are a 3rd world nation and they didn't contribute anything to Europe. Western Europeans and Roman Empire shaped the Europe.
