I love Mariah Carey’s music and culturally I see her as African-American even if she is Biracial(White mom and Black Dad). Her Venezuelan ancestry is pretty distant and vague almost as if she has no connection towards Latin America and Venezuela other then what was told to her by her absent father. Mariah Carey physically at a much closer glance looks like an intermediate between Euro features and Afro features such as the way her skin isn’t as dark as your average African American and not as pale as a White American more like a Olive color. When she’s next to her mom though she looks exactly like her if you look close enough

I recall having a fight at school because someone said when she was on American Idol, ''maybe she doesn't get along with Nicki Minaj because she's white and Nicki is black,'' and I tried to argue she wasn't even white.
