Default Why was North America not as advanced as South and Central America?

Before the arrival of Europeans, there were advanced civilizations in Mesoamerica and South America. Stunning pyramids, intricate stone constructions, cities, artwork, science, astronomy, etc abounded. Especially in countries like Mexico, Ecuador, Peru and also others.

But my question is... why is there nothing comparable in North America? This seems odd to me. I have a theory but would like to hear from others.

Vast areas of North America were virtually uninhabitable due to the cold weather. We're talking about temperatures much lower than anywhere in Northern Europe.

And Northern Europeans had contact with Southern Europeans which granted them the knowledge and tools to build their first civilizations. Northern Native Americans never had the luxury of having contact with the Mayans or Aztecs.

Envioromental issues. The climate and resources were more suitable in the south than in the north.

Yup, this must be it. Apart from being cold, vast areas would have been under permanent ice during the last glacial maxim of the ice age.

If South and Central America were so advanced, why are millions of them clamoring to get into the United States?

South and Central America had a more ideal climate and environment to allow for civilization. Northern Europe and Asia would also never have developed civilization on their own, but those two had close proximity to people who lived in warmer and more suitable lands for advanced societies.

Well, he is talking about Pre-Columbian America. The Mayans, Aztecs and Incas were pretty much wiped out or mixed.

Perhaps North American natives came across via the land bridge, and the South and Central American natives came across via the Pacific, first making landfall in western Mexico. I would imagine the people who came here by boat were more advanced than the nomadic types who came here from Siberia.

But North American natives could have simply defected northward, thereby eliminating the Land Bridge theory. I think the Land Bridge theory places natives here too soon, and I'm more apt to believe in the sailing-the-Pacific theory. Because Sumerian pottery was found amongst Mayan artifacts. Also, pyramid culture traveled with Hamitic peoples. From Egypt, to India via the Kush tribes, then onward to China & Cambodia etc, then across the Pacific to the Americas via the Chinese or Polynesians. This is the only way I can trace the connection between Sumer and Mayans, but I welcome any knowledge to the contrary because this topic is interesting.

History Channel's "Who Really Discovered America?" presents compelling information about a seafaring group from Polynesia or China (can't remember) who built their distinctive style of harbors, which are now submerged under water off Western Mexico. That's what sold it for me.
