The nobility system in the Bulgars came from the belief of Qut (ruling charisma of the Divinely established clan).
It's Tengrist roots.
Later Slavs which lacked that nobility system adopted it in a modified form and also the original word Boyar. All the way through Vlahs until Russia and Lithuania.

Bulgarians are historically Turks, ethnically Slavic and geographically Balkanites when we look at the modern ones.
Europe would less hate Islam because Islam would be less spread. It would be cornered to Arabian desert with possibly marginal minorities in Egypt and Iran and that's all.
