    Default Greek Wedding Money Dance

I used to think that pinning banknote in weddings is practised only in Turkey. Just learned from a Greek member that it is also a custom of Greeks...!

    Greek wedding:

    Wedding Reception
The traditional Greek wedding reception is usually a huge party and can last through the night. There is a lot of feasting, drinking and dancing, which usually starts with the money dance. During this, guests traditionally pin or tape money to the clothing of both the bride and the groom and the money collected from the dances eventually go to pay for the honeymoon. The famous Greek circle dance is yet another way to celebrate the wedding. Later on dishes are smashed on the floor for good luck and money is thrown at the musicians.

This is not mainland Greek custom - this is custom imported by refugees after 1922. This is Anatolian - Eastern Greek custom.

It doesn't even exist in Greece. Never seen it in any place in Greece. And note how the money is not Greek.

Abdiz is projecting his brown complexes again because 1 in 3 marriages in Turkey are child marriages and Polygamy is widespread:

Child marriages make up one third in Turkey

Polygamy widespread in Turkey, study shows

And here's the average Turkish family

I am not sure - but have seen them do it.

I had the misfortune of witnessing a Turkish wedding when visiting Germany (they had occupied the whole street).

I can tell you there it is the ugliest sight. I couldn't tell if those were gypsies or Turks.

    2. I told you before that this family suffering a genetic disease was not ethnic Turkish but Kurdish. You can ask member All-in too.

I don't know if this is any Greek American fashion, but since I live in Greece and have been in many weddings I can ensure you that it doesn't exist, though it looks nice

As for the picture, you don't have to be an anthropology master to understand that they are not Greek

The particular custom exists in middle east (including turkey) and Jews, but it may exist in Greek American community, as Greek Americans interacted with Mena people, because of both sharing NE American states as their main choice of settlement
