Default Adsiz desperately looking for "MENA Greece and Greeks"

I would like to start with the perception of many Greek proper members, who think that Anatolian Greeks have taken things from Turks. wrong, any Mena like similarity in Anatolians, pre-dates Turks, and are exchanges between Byzantine Anatolian Greeks and persians or Levantines, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this exchange with

Greece proper lacks most of this mena influence for many reasons, such as less geographical proximity to middle east than anatolia, different way of life from Anatolia, and the Frankish medieval dominance back in these times. other than Turkish coffee, Trahana, yoghurt and Baklava (out of hundreds if not thousands of Greek Dishes similar or indistinguishable from other Southern European)no Single real Turkish (I repeat, Turkish, not Levantine or Persian) influence is common in Greek culture, both Greek proper and Anatolian

He is so aware of Greek cuisine, that he asked us about "doner kebab", something that we ignored until very recently.

90% of Greek cuisine overlaps Southern European cusines, usually same dishes with native Greek names, often even with latin names, or vice versa, Greek originated names of dishes in latin speaking countries.

Also, our turkish friend, claims music and dance similarities of Greece with Turkey. then may i ask, what exactly is common between Greek Ballos, Syrtos/kalamatianos, Kantades and antikrystos, all of them following mostly the European harmony and rythm, with turkish ciftenteli belly dance etc? The answer: Absolutely nothing, and most of Anatolian Greek music includes this "proper Greek" influence:

    Greek folk music variety

    turkish folk music variety

Anatolian folk Greek, also sharing nothing really in common with Turkish

Greek culture and mentality is obviously native, unique, with some relations to Southern European, and nothing like Turkish (limited mena and persian influence yes, but never really Turkish)

both Greece and turkey are referred in the pic, not even close to each other.

Do i even have to refer DNA and anthropology in a forum full of pca and taxonomy like this? or Greek language which is not only European, but even Centum (western), in contrast to Turkish which is uralic-Altaic

Now let's make it clear: Turkish members should NOT take this post as an insult, cause what i am saying is obvious, that no matter what the particular user is trying to prove, Greek and turkish identity are completely different from each other, belonging even to different worlds. Greek identity is European, even with some non-Euro influence (i can't think of many European countries with zero non-European influence), meanwhile turkish is just turkish.

this is the first (and i hope the last) thread I open about Turkey, as to me Turkey is something neutral, that i have neither positive nor negative feelings. As long as particular Turkish users insult Greece, we have to respond

I think, before opening this thread you should have discussed first with other Greek members and decide on what is true. Because you oppose each other about Anatolian Greeks, music, cuisine.

    Anyway, some shared tradional songs:
(was written by a Greek with the nick Ageladakos 5 years ago)
Youtube has all of these songs if you want to listen to. There are many more even older but it needs long time to search in youtube.

Two more not in Ageladakos' list.

Byzantine Ottoman Greek Turkish shared musics
In honor of Orthodox Great (Good) Friday and the forthcoming Easter (Pascha) festival I present two Ottoman Greeks, composers of both secular Ottoman classical and court music and neo-Byzantine chant. A parrallel flowering of both Ottoman art music and Orthodox ecclesiastical music from the mid 17th through the 18th centuries and beyond.

    This is my favourite:

here is a list of few of the hundreds of brittish, American, italian, latin American etc. modern songs shared with Greek. Does this associate us with any of these countries dumb? If not, why does shared music with Turkey (which is more limited than the previous) associate us with turkey? Our original pre-globalization music has nothing in common with turkish. Do i even have to mention that most of this music is associated in greek society with cinganis, and many of these artists you referred are gypsies themselves, according to wikipedia (see volanis, melas etc)?

And yes, i oppose the identity of anatolian Greeks to any Turkic culture, the only things you have in common with Anatolian Greeks, are things you stole from them, which were the result of their pre-ottoman interaction with levantine and persian people (nothing wrong with that)
