I don't agree. Most of my friends and myself started drinking at a very early age; say 13-14. Most of the people in my social circle took driving courses at 15-16, and we all know how to drive, even if most of us don't have a car. My parents had thought of giving me a Chevrolet Cruze for a gift, but they changed their mind when they found out I had a drinking problem, lol. Figured I would end up driving drunk and killing myself, lool. Anyways I wouldn't really know about parties, as I never really got into that crowd, but most people my age have tried drugs, and some use them quite frequently.

They are. As a late teen, I had worked on ranches, fastfood, and factories and had my own place that I pa9d with working a 40+ hour week before 20.

Now "yay, I adulted by doing a load of laundry" is a reoccurring meme on facebook.

You haven't had mexicans and other mass-migrants flooding country and dropping salaries for unskilled labour below any meaningfull level though.

Americans absolutely have had wages stagnate, and even drop. It happened to Oneeye himself while working in manufacturing with his last job during the Obama era.

They gutted the bonus system so they were making multiple dollars less per hour than they were, add to that wage stagnation, (he had a 50 cent raise that other people found out about and resented) and eventually being laid off for plant relocation to a nearby state with a much lower minimum wage to a burgeoning immigrant population for even cheaper employees. They were willing to do the work for below the minimum wage in his state...

So don't tell him they haven't had "decreased salaries" at "any meaningful level"... Oneeye has lived it.

When i wrote you i didn't mean Oneeye as a person, but his generation as a whole, ofc i'm not American, but as far as my knowledge goes the situation was much better 15 years ago, when he was a teenager i assume.

Here f.e. i faced this situation myself, as when i was at 2nd year of uni, it turned out that most of traditional student jobs are occupied by migrant lowering wage below meaningfull level, so i had to take the job of waiter as people generally don't want spooky looking persons to serve them food.
