Can a job title can change your behaviour?

Before you sniff at the promotion by name only, or mock your company’s new “social media whisperer", consider that there’s more to a name than you'd think.

Do impressive-sounding, inspirational, or downright silly job titles make us feel better about ourselves? Can they, in fact, change our behaviour?

Research suggests that job titles have the power to improve our wellbeing and sense of control, shield us from feeling socially snubbed, and even encourage us to apply for a job in the first place.

It is mostly a status thing. I see a countless amount of failures on Facebook with 'CEO' as their job title in an attempt to mislead others by greatly exaggerating their line of work. In reality they are unemployed, uneducated Slackers running a 5k per year income internet website and they delude others and possibly even themselves into thinking they are a success or that they have 'made it'.

It can be true for authority institutions like army or police,or ranks of a criminal organizations.

Interesting topic, seems like the answer is obvious though.
Of course if my job title was "professor" instead of "teacher" or "novelist" instead of "screenwriter" this would alter my self-perception and expectations of self.
