Planeta Group after the intervention of Puigdemont: "Tomorrow we will leave"
The session of the Generalitat in which Carles Puigdemont has declared the independence of Catalonia with a suspension of its effective application makes companies fear that their legal security will worsen over the coming weeks. Grupo Planeta, the largest Spanish publishing group, is clear: "Tomorrow we are going, the uncertainty generated is now greater," the company's authorized sources told the daily.
Company sources say that as soon as possible the procedures for the transfer of its headquarters will begin, although they did not indicate which destination they will choose.
Grupo Planeta is chaired by José Creuheras. The company has 100 publishing stamps and invoiced 2.363 million in 2016. Planeta has always been located in Barcelona and this weekend is scheduled to celebrate its annual gala there.
The warning about his departure was already a reality announced five years ago by his former president, José Manuel Bosch, but has not taken on any realities until after Puigdemont's speech.

540 companies have left Catalonia since the October 1 referendum
The largest number of outputs — 212 companies — occurred on 9 October, the day before the declaration of Puigdemont
The first official data confirm that in Catalonia there is a flight of companies . Since the illegal referendum held from 1 to 11 October, 540 companies have left Catalonia, according to provisional data from the Registrar's College. In just eight working days, 44 fewer than in the first nine months of the year, 584. In those eight days only 22 companies came, dropping a negative result of 518 companies lost.
The words of the Generalitat's economic vice-president, Oriol Junqueras, once again face reality. Last Thursday, he predicted that there would be "no leakage of Catalan companies." And he added: "Such decodals have been made at other times and, for the moment, have never happened." That same day the Banco Sabadell made its exit, and many others were already preparing the suitcases. This is demonstrated by the data released Friday by the Registrar's College: between 1 and 11 October 540 companies escaped from Catalonia, in the absence of adding the data from the province of Lleida on the last day. In the same period only 22 arrived.
So far, accounting for the ads of large corporations that had announced moves of headquarters, the unofficial figure hovered around the quarantine . The official data was missing to know exactly the magnitude of the phenomenon and if it had reached other smaller companies. The vast majority of departures correspond to the last days. In fact, the first working day of the month, on the 2nd, was not recorded. Nor for the next two days. On the other hand, between Monday and Wednesday this week, the figure has multiplied exponentially: 533 casualties. And the day in which more occurred was the Monday before the declaration of Puigdemont, with 212.
This slip has its explanation: before going to the register it is usual to start the proceedings with the lawyers, and that may take a few days. Nor should it be ruled out that there would be a drag effect after the first and shocking announcements: Oryzon, Banco Sabadell and CaixaBank . The departure of the Kiluva group, parent company of Naturhouse, had been announced in August.
To get an idea of the scale of what happened, just compare with the first nine months of the year. Until September, Axesor data, extracted from the Mercantile Register, indicate that 584 companies left Catalonia and landed 449: a negative balance of 135 companies. But this figure is misleading, since in those nine months the companies that settled in the community accumulated a turnover of 693 million, which far exceeded the turnover of those leaving: 445 million.
It is very difficult for this to happen again in the first days of October. It is because of the great difference between the entrances and exits. But above all, it is because many of the companies that have made the decision are large corporations with billing volumes that are counted in hundreds and billions (Planeta, Gas Natural, CaixaBank, Sabadell, Abertis, Catalana Occidente, Cellnex , Applus, eDreams Odigeo, Bimbo or Torraspapel).
In the four Catalan provinces there are net losses of companies. But the province most affected by this exodus is Barcelona, which so far in October has lost 501 companies compared to the 16 it has won.

Almost 2,000 companies leave Catalonia since October 2
A total of 1,982 companies moved their headquarters from Catalonia to other regions of Spain between October 2 and 31, according to data from the College of Commercial Registrars of Spain. After recording the lowest number of departures last Monday, with a total of 62 , on Tuesday they returned to rebound, with 99 transfers.
This week the headquarters movements are still lower than those registered in previous weeks, which could be related to the entry into force of the measures of Article 155.
Of the total number of companies that left Catalonia since October 2, 1,777 of them were based in Barcelona, while 37 had it in Gerona, 76 companies in Lleida and the remaining 92 in Tarragona.
Business leakage
On Friday, October 27, a total of 140 companies moved their headquarters to other points of the Spanish geography, which was almost double the figure on Thursday 26 (78). However, on Monday 30, departures significantly decreased (62), the lowest number since there are records, since there is only evidence that between October 2 and 9 a total of 219 came out. On Tuesday 31 they returned to increase, up to 99 transfers.
On Monday 16 a total of 632 transfers of headquarters had been counted, while throughout that week departures amounted to 1,302, and at the beginning of this week the transfers had reached the figure of 1,821. With the movements of Monday and Tuesday, the total departures are in 1,982 transfers.
The days with the highest number of transfers of headquarters in Catalonia were on October 19, with 268 companies ; on October 9, with 212 outgoing entities, and on October 10, with 177 companies.
Without taking into account weekends and holidays, almost four companies move their headquarters outside Catalonia every hour since October 2.

if it is only a change of registered office, it guarantees that the company will be under the Spanish and European legal regime in case of independence, it is almost a symbolic act or the beginning of a major transfer. Catalonia loses some taxes.
If the change also of fiscal domicile then they are required to move the management team. This may eventually lead to a progressive transfer of office employees. Also Catalonia loses more taxes.
As for the production centers, it does not change, among other things because many factories are spread throughout Spain. But in case of independence, the price of the tariffs would force to transfer all the production of Catalonia to Spain
