Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1931. Numbers are percentage of most numerous ethnicity in every area (red - Serbs, blue - Croatians, green - Muslims/Bosniaks).

I did not find exact data for 1931. for native languages, but here is for 1921. (it was very similar as in 1931. for sure):
    - Serbian/Croatian 8.218.000 (74.36%)
    - Slovenian 1.019.997 (8.51%)
    - German 505.799 (4.22%)
    - Hungarian 467.658 (3.9%)
    - Albanian 439.657 (3.67%)
    - Romanian 231.068 (1.93%)
    - Turkish 150.332 (1.26%)
    - Czech/Slovak 115.532 (0.96%)
    - Rusyn 26.615 (0.21%)
    - Russian 20.568 (0.17%)
    - Polish 14.764 (0.12%)
    - Italian 12.553 (0.11%)

In Kingdom of Yugoslavia most numerous minority were Germans. In communist Yugoslavia most numerous minority became Albanians.

Interesting, in 1931. there was little more Albanian than German speakers and in 1921. German speakers were more numerous and difference was not so small (for about 66K more German speakers). I think ethnic Germans still were more numerous than ethnic Albanians in 1931. Because German speakers were only ethnic Germans, and Albanians speakers except ethnic Albanians (vast majority) were also Albanian Gypsies from Kosovo and parts of Macedonia known as Aškalije.

Ashkalis are not classic Gypsies. They are highly admixed with Albanians. Plenty in my city and light features among them like blond hair and colored eyes aren't rare at all.

There were 68.403 Jews in Yugoslavia, more than half of them Ashkenazi, in areas of previous Austria-Hungary.
I suppose some of them spoke German or Hungarian as native language.

I know they are heavy Albanian admixed, but still they are not ethnic Albanians. Aškalije are mostly descendants of the bastards of Albanian men and Gypsy women. Most dominant haplos in Aškalije are Albanian for sure. They even have Serbian paternal influence. I heard Ahkali family Đogani/Đogaj is I2-PH908.
Aškalije and Romanian Gypsies are lighter on average and more European shifted than other Balkan Gypsy groups.

It is for entire ex Yugoslavia.

Anyway, in territory of Serbia (with Kosovo included) there were almost equal number of German speakers (357.084) and Albanian speakers (355.517) in 1931.

Btw on the map for Bosnia and Herzegovina which refers at census in 1931. it seems modern municipalities Drvar and Grahovo were one "srez" which had 94.4% Serbs. In 1991. Drvar municipality had 96.8% Serbs, and Grahovo 94.9%. Drvar-Grahovo area for centuries until 1995. had only Serbian Orthodox population, the highest in entire Bosnia and Herzegovina. Small % of non-Serbs in 1991. same as in 1931. were not locals, but people who came from other parts of BiH and Yugoslavia to work there. Even today Serbs are vast majority. In 2013. in Drvar municipality Serbs were 91.2% and in Grahovo 82.8%.
Drvar and Grahovo and only or one of very few places in BiH which never had mosque.
